2023 Summer Strength & Conditioning Program Schedule

Attention Student-Athletes and Parents:

This letter is for students interested in interscholastic athletic participation at the high school.  Athletic Department forms can be found on the school website;  The following form must be downloaded, completed and submitted; Athletics Physical Form.  The following forms must be electronically submitted online through Community Pass with the $75 Activity Fee; NJSIAA Steroid Testing Consent Form, NJSIAA Concussion Acknowledgement Form, Sudden Cardiac Death in Young Athletes Sign Off Form, River Dell Drug Testing Consent Form and Opioid Sign Off Sheet.  New for the 2023-2024 school year for HS student-athletes only (not MS student-athletes) Health History Update forms (state required for physicals over 90 days old) will only be available for submission online thru the Genesis Parent Portal.

Physical examinations must be completed by a personal family physician.  We must have a current and valid physical (no more than 365 days old) on file for clearance to participate in summer workouts and the strength & conditioning program starting on 6/12/23.

Examination forms given to your private physician must be completely filled out including student signature, parent signature and the doctor’s signature in multiple places and clear stamp of the attending physician’s office.  It is crucial to indicate the grade your child is entering in September of 2023 on the physical form and the sports they would like to participate in.  Please do not fill out and submit a form that will be older than one year prior to the start of the first sports season your student-athlete will participate in.  Older physicals with outdated information will only delay in having your child physically cleared to participate.

In order to be guaranteed clearance for fall sports the forms must be submitted no later than Friday, 7/28/23.

Under state law, the school doctor must verify the accuracy of the completed form and officially validate it.  Only the state required forms will be accepted.  These forms are available at the main office and the athletic department offices in the high school and are also available online as indicated above.

All required forms must be completed and submitted together in the following manner:

MAIL to River Dell High School, Attn:  Denis Nelson, Athletic Director, 55 Pyle Street, Oradell, NJ  07649 or scan and email them but they must be clear and legible to [email protected] or [email protected]  Please do not bring the forms to the school and do not fax them to the school. Do not attempt to give the forms to any coaches as they are not permitted to accept them.  Your compliance with this procedure will insure accuracy and expedite the process of officially clearing the student to participate.  If a physical form is not completely filled out and signed it will be sent back to you and your student-athlete(s) will NOT be cleared. All athletes must practice a minimum of 6 days before participating in scrimmages as per NJSIAA rules.

We look forward to your child’s participation next year.  Thank you for your attention to this important and state required procedure.
